Beginners’ Butchery Evening

 

A “hands on” evening aimed at keen cooks or enthusiasts to learn some basic butchery skills including cutting, preparing, and cooking.

The class will last approximately 3 hours. 6pm-9pm
Maximum 6 people per evening.

  • A demonstration on how to split a pig & lamb in to primal joints
  • A chance to make your own sausages and take them home
  • Basic butchery skills such as how to sharpen a knife and how to tie a butchers knot
  • How to prepare some kitchen ready products with Cooking tips
  • Refreshments throughout the evening and tasting and Wine to finish

Steak Butchery Masterclass

 

An In depth tutorial on how to prepare alternative steak cuts that are more flavourful than the better known prime cuts of steak.

The class will last approximately 3 and a half hours. 6pm-9:30pm
Maximum 6 people per evening.

Course cost £100 per person

On this steak specific butchery evening you will learn how to:

  • Introduction to butchery and behind the scenes tour of the shop
  • Brief explanation on beef provenance/husbandry/welfare and grading
  • Explanation on the different cuts of beef and where they come from
  • Demonstration of how to prepare the individual cuts of steak
  • Basic butchery skills such as sharpening your knife
  • Learn how to cook the “perfect” steak
  • Chance to prepare your own steaks under the supervision of one of our butchers
  • Refreshments throughout the evening and tasting and Wine to finish
  • Take home the steaks that you have prepared (approximate value £40)

Lamb Butchery Masterclass

 

On this lamb specific butchery evening you will get an in depth tutorial showing specific skills needed to prepare a lamb into chops/joints and speciality products.

The class will last approximately 3 and a half hours. 6pm-9:30pm
Maximum 6 people per evening.

On this lamb butchery evening you will learn how to:
