We have been voted Norfolks favourite sausages for the fith time in the annual Norfolk Food Festival "Battle of the Bangers" contest. The competition was held outside the Forum in Norwich city centre and attracted more than 4000 people. We are even more excited about the win this year because we won the public and judges vote which was a complete suprise.
Everyone at Archer's is ecstatic that we have been crowned champion of champions at the British Pork Executive (BPEX) National Awards in London!

At Archer's we all work very hard to ensure that the food we produce is of the very highest quality, and to be recognised in this way as the best in the country is thrilling.
In 2011 we were delighted to be chosen as BPEX East of England Champion (see news story below) which meant that we went, along with the other regional champions, to the national final in June 2012.
BPEX, a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, has chosen James Archer as the Overall Champion for the East of England 2011.
The BPEX news release stated: "Overall winner Archers Butchers' 'Pork Wellington' was praised by the judges as containing some of the most tender and tasty pork they'd eaten and these comments have given the first time entrant, James Archer, a huge boost and a keen desire to enter more competitions. He said: "It was an amazing day out and we never expected to do so well." The third generation butcher took over the shop from his father two years ago but has continued the ethos of providing good quality, free-range local pork, while introducing some new added value products.
James added: "We decided to replace our popular, traditional Beef Wellington, with a version using pork fillet for the evaluation – and the result was just phenomenal. We've now put it on sale in the shop and hope our customers enjoy it as much as the judges.
"We're already quite well known for our sausages, so it is fantastic to get recognition for another product. The event itself has been really useful and the judges gave us some great feedback to help us improve and will stand us in good stead for the next competition!"
As Overall Champion for the East of England James Archer will also go on to compete in the National Final with the seven other regional champions, in June 2012."
We'd like to thank everyone who voted for us at the Battle of the Bangers 2011 contest. We strive to produce the best quality sausages available, and the recognition of our dedication to the highest standards is greatly appreciated.
